Work It Out Now

.5 mile SWIM....
12 mile BIKE...
3.1 mile RUN...

That's exactly what I'll be doing June 28th, 2009! I just started training for my first mini-sprint-triathlon this past week. I'm SUPER excited! My cousin Janie has done multiple ones & a few years ago I watched her cross the finish line at the Danskin race (the one I'll be doing) and I knew in that moment I want to experience that! Janie has a group of friends, they call themselves the 'Power Divas', who participate in all kinds of races, 5K's, half-marathons, & triathlons. They train together, encourage each other, and race together. I'm so excited to now call myself a 'Power Diva'. Woohoo! I'll keep you posted on how my training is going...so far so good. Starting off really slow & safe. Swimming is by far the hardest part...did I mention it is an open-water swim (um yah, scary) =) It'll be great though. And I just got a membership to an AWE-AWE-AWE-some gym! Going there is a great escape---love it!

Also in some "personal health" news I recently ran a 5K up in Ft. Collins. These races are addicting! I wasn't planning on running, but the group I was with decided to and so I 'jogged' 2 miles and walked/jogged the rest. It felt great b/c I haven't ran in so so sooo long. That race really kick started my training excitement. Not only is the exercise fun, but getting dressed up in funky outfits is fun too! =) Check out the pics:

....In other health news....

I have been working on losing weight (like my entire life) & I started Weight Watchers again this past December. Great time to start, right?! =) I thought,'hey if I can lose over Christmas, I can do it anytime'. Well it's been going great... Janie and I are doing it together ... awesome to have a accountability and someone to join in with the struggles and victories. I feel very, very motivated & honestly feel like this will be the change I've been trying to accomplish for a long time. Today I hit 20 lbs!! I'm so excited! Have a long way to go---but taking the small steps in order to reach the giant step.

Bravo, my friend! You'll have another long distance WW partner in about a month, if you're interested. I know I could use the help too. :)
