Mountains...O how I love thee

Well I have officially been out in Colorado for about 3 weeks now. Crazy how quickly time goes bye. I am having an amazing time at Xtrack (overseas training). It has been so great getting to know everyone out here and to hear how God has called them into the ministry and where they will be serving overseas. The classes/lectures we've been having have been so insightful and challenging. They have really helped me to think more about actually "living" overseas and what that consists of, how to engage a culture not my own, and definitely learning more about God's heart for the world. Spending time in the word with the Rocky Mountains in the background has been such a special gift for me. I have come to find out I really worship God through nature. And nothing was more glorious then spending the weekend up in Breckenridge CO in the most amazing mountains! We went up there on a Singles retreat which was so fun! I am surrounded by such amazing believers here who are so encouraging, loving and joyful to be around! We had a really relaxing weekend with an awesome hiking trip on Saturday! The words of the song Indescribable by Chris Tomlin came to mind as we were climbing up the mountain. I say that because as we reached the top the lighting started to strike and then we started to pretty much sprint down the mountain. Quite the adventure....climbing through snow in the middle of June, having a snowball fight, running from lightning all while praising God for His glorious creation. What a weekend!

Well I would love to continue talking about what's going on here at training and give more specifics about the engaging talks and what I've been learning but that will have to come at another time. I am super tired from this weekend and should have been asleep about an hour ago! Oh and here's a side note: Today was Father's Day and can I just say I have the best DADDY'O in the world! Seriously~he's amazing and I thank God daily that He has blessed me with a dad who provides for me, loves me, encourages me, inspires me and has helped shape the woman I am today. So thank you dad! I love you!
