Day two was not quite as long as day one (10hrs) but the weather was not so fun. Thunderstorms and wind were the selected weather for the trip~but I made it safely and enjoyed my time looking at the beauty of the "wild-wild-west". During the drive I listened to a book on CD for the first time ever. Um...not the best way to past the time and try to stay awake, but the book was aWeSoMe! If you are interested in learning more about Afganizstan culture and what the people have been through read A Thousand Splendid Suns and the Kite Runner...great books. I would recommend reading them and not listening to the same womans voice for 11 hrs...zzZzzZzz. =) I also got to drive over a bunch of different bridges driving from SC to CO, however I have to say each time I drive over a bridge I celebrate because bridges scare me...yes...I have deep fears of bridges...so everytime those 4 wheels carry me across that steel-metal-and whatever else they use to build such amazing structures--I sing a halluleijah chorus out loud!!! Gotta face those fears!
Now you may be wondering what exactly I'm doing out in Colorado. Well I will go ahead and tell you so you don't have to wonder anymore. =) I am out here for the summer to get some training on how to live overseas~adapt to the culture, keep in contact with family/friends, and to have an effective ministry. I'm sure I will learn much more then that and be challenged in many ways~I will be keeping you updated on all that! And then later in July we will have a national wide conference for CCC and that will be AMAZING!!! I am so excited to see what God has in- store for the summer!

Sounds like you're having lots of fun, Shannon! I know you like chai tea, and I wanted to share with you that Jason and I had the BEST chai at an Indian place we went to the other day in Harvard Square. I am sure you would love it! Although we didn't have any jam to put in it, like Central Asia;) Two years ago--wow!!
Keep posting those updates!!
